The most versatile solution for analog and AES3 signals

The SERAPH AD8 is two soundcards in one. An eight channel input/output analog card AND an eight channel digital interface. It combines our latest high quality analog circuit design with superior audio conversion and superfast, reliable digital signal processing. Now you can connect and centralize all analog and digital gear of your studio in one place: your computer. Record, mix and distribute different sources like preamps, instruments, digital effects and more. Shape and distribute submixes to different destinations like speakersets, heaphones and effect units - directly from a straight-forward user interface in the style of a classic mixing console with recall functions, built-in EQ functions and a flexible routing matrix. The SERAPH AD8 converts signals from analog to digital and back and even allows to re-record a sub-mix or audio coming from a software. Thanks to the highly advanced audio driver suite, the SERAPH AD8 achives ultra-low latencies on a stable audio data transfer of the PCIe bus.

With the variable mountable connection for AES/EBU, the Seraph AD8 provides a high degree of mechanical flexibility. This connector is not connected to the main board of the Seraph AD8 but is located on a separate slot bracket, which can be mounted further away from the Seraph AD8. In addition, this connector can be separated from the slot bracket and mounted anywhere in the computer housing so that no slot is blocked by the AES/EBU connector.

Excellence Analog Audio and AES/EBU joint in: The BEAST

BEAST Digital Signal Prozessor (DSP) As a member of the SERAPH series it includes the new BEAST Digital Signal Processor (DSP). This makes the purchase of an additional mixing console absolutely superfluous. Even the purchase of a patchbay is not necessary...

In the hardware of the Seraph AD8 works a full 56-2 channel mixer with one stereo and 3 further mono aux paths. These aux sums are all pre/post switchable and thus predestined for use as headphone mix or effect feed. Furthermore, each of the 56 channels offers an extensive filter section with
  • one low shelf EQ
  • two peak EQs
  • one high shelf EQ
In addition, the BEAST offers the most comprehensive total recall functionality:
All mixer and routing settings can be quickly saved as "snapshots" and recalled with just one click. In addition to all audio settings, this also includes visual settings and labels that you have created for a better overview. Furthermore, all settings can be saved to a file, e.g. for a specific project, and read in again on other systems.

Flexible and Expandable: The TDM SyncBus

Using the TDM SyncBus you can upgrade the SERAPH AD8 with up to 3 more of its kind or with any other SyncBus-compatible MARIAN sound systems. The SyncBus enables all connected systems to share audio clock and start/stop information. This unique solution ensures reliable recording of all the signals of all the sound systems involved. More than that: Thanks to an intelligent bus management, TDM SyncBus compatible systems allow the transfer and exchange of up to 8 audio signals. The signals shared will appear as input signal in each mixer of each card and are handled like every "normal" input signal.

Fast and Reliable: Multi-Client Driver Suite

Each SERAPH system provides software support for Windows™ 7/8/10, Windows™ Server 2008/2008.R2/2012. The continuously enhanced driver software includes true multi-client support for ASIO 2.2 and multi-channel WDM Audio / WASAPI with lowest latencies in all software environments. In contrast to competing products, the driver allows multiple audio applications to access the sound system simultaneously via the same or different driver interfaces.

Well-structured driver menus and dialogs, combined with an easy-to-read and practical manual, make this system extremely easy to set up and to customize for the specific needs of your studio.

Powerfull and Future-proof: A perfect choice

The SERAPH AD8 is available in two versions. For plain recording purposes the SERAPH AD8 with its 16 analog channels and 16 digital channels will serve perfectly in mainly all recording situations. The SERAPH AD8 MWX provides an additional daughter board featuring 2 MIDI in- and outputs as well as a wordclock synchronization in- and output. Thus, you can hook up a master keyboard and sound expanders. The wordclock ports are ideal for advanced clock setups. That means, you can synchronize all external equipment featuring a wordclock input simply by using the SERAPH AD8 MWX as clock master. A helpful tool to manage clock signals is the included software clock status panel monitoring samplerates, lock status and clock errors of all digital input signals.

Like every sound system by MARIAN the SERAPH AD8 marks up due to its easy installation and steadily controlled highest manufacturing quality according DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. This and the fact, that the SERAPH AD8 is 100% engineered and assembled in Germany, make us confident enough to grant a full 5-year limited warranty.
